In November 2021, 4ways welcomed Shahid Ali, into a new role within the business as an Account Manager. Account management has become a primary focus for 4ways as we continue to expand our teleradiology reporting across the UK. The investment of new talent into the business, confirms our commitment of quality service delivery to our clients and desire to be a trusted partner to our NHS Trusts as we aid with their elective recovery.

Shahid joins 4ways with over 16 years experience within account management. Shahid began his client relations career at Salon Success where he progressed up the company, overseeing brand awareness and penetration in over 20 countries across Europe. After 8 years at the company, Shahid moved obtained his first experience in the healthcare industry, working as a Relationships Manager for the National Pharmacy Association. In this role Shahid increased connectivity with community pharmacists, doubling engagement in one year.

The Account Management role is new for 4ways, following the expansion of our existing Business Development Team. Shahid will be solely focused on being the conduit between the 4ways service and our clients. Understanding the current needs within radiology departments and providing solutions for how these can be met is a primary focus for Shahid, escalating issues across teams where necessary.  As a part of his role Shahid, will help to identify other 4ways services that might improve their workflows.

Shahid was drawn to the role at 4ways as it presented him with a new opportunity to work alongside the NHS and understand the challenges it faces. He was enticed by the chance to use his account management skills in a completely new field. Shahid says he “found the opportunity to really own an account and make a difference appealing,” when joining 4ways. Since starting, Shahid has enjoyed learning about the industry, and has found it eye opening to understand all the intricacies involved with radiology reporting. He has seen the impact of COVID on his clients and has learnt about how 4ways has and continues to support its clients as they navigate their way through their elective recovery.

A highlight since starting for Shahid has “been getting to know the clients, they are wonderful people.” Interacting with the key contacts within our clients has allowed Shahid to gain a greater understanding of the important role 4ways plays in their daily operations and the vital support our operations and radiologist teams provides. Additionally, the support Shahid has received from his team is another element he marks as a positive feature since has arrived. He enjoys working alongside “such an open minded and flexible team, you can see their passion for what they do and want to make a difference.”

Outside of his new role, much of Shahid’s time revolves around his young son, with weekends spent on family days out. During lockdown Shahid and his family found a new love of woodland walking, having now kept up the hobby. Shahid is also a passionate cook, which whilst travel has been restricted over the past few years, gives him the opportunity to revisit some of his favourite cuisines from his past travels.
